Cultural Park Bali or best known as Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Culture Park is now one of the most famous and iconic tourist destinations in Bali.
GWK Cultural Park is famous for its gigantic statue of Vishnu, a Hinddhu Gods. Many international events are held in the cultural park’s Jimbaran white stone hill. Beside of gigantic statue of Vishnu, the cultural park also has another gigantic Garuda statue. The Garuda is a glorious bird that can be seen in the garuda statue Bali. About the Statues
The gigantic statue of Vishnu has over 150m of height. The Vishnu is chosen to be pictured in the cultural park because Vishnu is the source of wisdom for the Balinese. Vishnu here is pictured riding the gigantic mysterious mystical bird of Garuda to the Amerta, the eternal goodness.
From the statues, you can see how rich the cultural value of the Balinese. The famous statue was created by an excellent Indonesian sculptor, Mr. Made Nuarta. To make the statue, there was over 4000 tons of copper needed. Now, the statue has been one of the most iconic places of Bali.
The concept of the statue is supposed to be Vishnu riding the Garuda, but, the statue is not completed until today. So, the statues are now still separated.
The Facility
As one of the most famous tourist destinations nowadays, this cultural park has numerous facilities for the tourists. Among them are the entertainment stage where can enjoy traditional Balinese dance performance. The traditional dance will be completed with backdrop music of gamelan orchestra.
Here there are also restaurants that serve Balinese traditional cuisine. The location is also easy to reach. To visit the park, you can come to Raya Uluwatu Street, Village of Jimbaran, Regency of Badung, Bali. The cultural park is only 25 minutes away from Nusa Dua Airport.
